So you have had your Botox treatment… Now what? Botox aftercare is just as important as the actual treatment! Here are a few post-treatment dos + don’ts —
DO follow the skin care routine recommended by your provider
Using medical grade skincare will not only help protect the investment you have made with your treatment, but will also enhance your results.
DO expect mild redness at the injection site
You may experience some redness, mild or a small bruise at the injection site. For most people, this will subside within 20-30 minutes. You can GENTLY apply makeup after treatment to cover any unwanted redness.
DON’T expect immediate results
For most patients, Botox will begin to kick in around two days after treatment. You will not see the full effect until 10 to 14 days after treatment. We like to have all new patients come in for a two week follow up, so that we can assess the results and tweak anything needed.
DO wash your face + apply skin care products the night of your treatment
You can continue with your normal skin care routine after the treatment. We suggest washing your face + applying products using a gentle upward and outward motion.
DON’T exercise after the treatment
Exercising after treatment can cause your Botox to migrate and affect facial muscles that were not intended to be treated.
DO schedule your next Botox appointment 3-4 months out
We recommend scheduling your next Botox appointment immediately after you receive treatment. This will help you stay on schedule with your Botox treatment plan, while helping you maintain peak results for your preventative and maintenance goals.
DON’T ignore your provider’s advice
Our advanced practice providers are experts in their field. They have years of experience in the medical industry, and are focused on providing exceptional results, while maintaining the highest quality of care and patient safety.
DO wait two weeks to have other procedures or treatments done
We highly suggest waiting two weeks before you have facials, laser treatments, massages, etc. This will give your Botox time to settle in!
