Patient Comfort: RF Microneedling Edition

RF Microneedling Treatment by Arabella Medical Aesthetics in Knoxville, TX

Patient comfort is one of our top priorities at Arabella! We know that it can be intimidating to have some of our treatments done — especially RF Microneedling. If you’ve heard anything about Radiofrequency Microneedling, you’ve probably heard that it’s painful. It is one of our most invasive treatments, but we take great pride in being able to keep you comfortable during this treatments!

Numbing Cream:

We use a topical numbing cream for a variety of procedures at Arabella. The longer we leave the numbing cream on, the more numb you are going to be. We leave the numbing cream on for thirty minutes to one hour for Radiofrequency Microneedling, which is much longer than any other treatment at Arabella.

Sensory Distractors:

If you have had a treatment at Arabella, you’ve probably seen our sensory distractors. Each treatment room has a vibrating gold bar, spiky gold balls, and a stress ball. These sensory distractors disrupt your pain signals, making the treatment more comfortable.

Zimmer:

We have a zimmer that can be attached to our RF Microneedling device. The zimmer is a machine that creates cold air to help with the heat that our lasers produce. It also provides a slight distraction from the treatment.

ProNox:

ProNox is a 50/50 mixture of nitrous and oxygen that provides short-term pain and anxiety relief. Think: laughing gas! ProNox is self-administered, so you can control how much you receive. It also dissipates quickly — so you can drive yourself home 15 minutes after the treatment!

ProNox is a recent addition to our Clinic, and the patient feedback has been incredible! We have had several patients who had RF Microneedling done without it + said it was a 9 or 10 on the pain scale. Then, they had another session with the ProNox and said that it was a 1 or 2 on the pain scale! We are so happy that pain is no longer a factor in getting our patients the results they desire!

What about after the treatment?

Your provider will send you home with post-treatment instructions and a post-treatment product kit. We recommend following these instructions to a T! This will help minimize discomfort and jumpstart the healing process.
